On April 27, 2007, seven free thinkers gathered at Georgia O’Keefe’s Ghost Ranch. These technologists, marketing experts, writers, musicians, businessmen, and award-winning media talents wanted to do something simple – make dreams real. After huddles in Oregon, Florida, California, and New Mexico their big idea filtered and focused to a strategic execution plan. The team moved across the country to the heart of New York City to establish a live/work incubator and officially give life to Saber Seven, Inc.
Saber Seven, Inc. is a technology company whose mission is to pave a new paradigm in discovery and place the tools for that discovery in the fabric of everyday life. The company has over twenty minds actively cultivating their vision into a shared reality. Our senior leadership includes founders, co-founders, and senior executives from companies such as AOL, Microsoft, Yahoo, and About.com.
We see a future where dreaming is available to all people – not just Americans, and not just those who already believe things are possible. History has proven that people who believe a brighter future is possible will do anything to make that future real. Decade after decade, technology’s changed everyday people’s ability to understand or visualize what is possible. These catalysts have led ordinary folks to cross mountains, discover new territories, walk on the moon, defeat the Great Depression, and prove that the dream, although evolved, lives on.
In 1776, eleven free thinkers formed and founded our nation with a shared dream of freedom and prosperity. These like-minded individuals believed all men should be empowered to discover an unlimited future. Their dream has been transformed over our shared history, re-interpreted by each generation, and amended when it has not been inclusive to all Americans. It has acted as a magnet for peoples worldwide, drawing them from across oceans to new shores in discovery of brighter understanding.
The first dreamers crossed through gaps in the Eastern Mountains to homestead the rich river valleys of New York, Ohio, and Kentucky, expanding a new independent nation. They were followed by pioneer families in Conestoga wagons dreaming of new homes across the American continent. The Santa Fe and Overland Trails were gateways to a mythologized West where every prairie was a land rush and every stream was filled with gold nuggets. In the next century, Ellis Island became the gateway for millions of dreamers drawn by the promise and opportunity of a new home in America. Watched over by the Statue of Liberty, they proudly became Americans, adopting the typically American values of optimism, confidence, and hard work.
These values bore fruit. In each decade of the 20th century, imagination and experimentation led to unbelievable technologies, breaking every conceivable barrier. Light bulbs illumined, car engines revved, airplanes lifted off, and cinema screens were suffused with glamorous images of the American Dream in action.
In the 1950s, the barriers for a post-war, displaced American population were sociological and economic. The American Dream was transformed into a middle-class lifestyle; a suburban home, a car in the garage, two smiling children, and a lawn to mow. The gateway for this evolution was a technology called Television, projecting an American Dream template into homes across the nation. Jackie Gleason gave way to the suburbia of Ozzie and Harriet and the Cleavers.
In the mid 1960s John Kennedy’s big dream to put a man on the moon, and Dr. King’s big dream of racial harmony changed the American Dream again. The Dream had become more inclusive, more personal, more shared and optimistic.
Today, Saber Seven is advancing technologies that will once again reinterpret dreaming and make it even more accessible. Our services help people see their future and give them the stuff they need or want before they even know they need it. Not unlike those eleven free thinkers from 1776, we’re dedicated to empowering all people to discover an unlimited potential.
